A historic place
The Guest House's name is referring to Tricana women, a mythical and emblematic figure of Aveiro and Coimbra cities, since the end of the 19th century.
The Tricana is present in much of Portuguese literature, many writers and poets have described about the Tricanas in their works, as well as several fados.
She wears a black skirt, a small apron, a sweater, a scarf over her head, and has the Shawl drawn over her shoulder.
The Tricana always carried with her a pitcher of clay or tin when she went to the river to fetch water.
At the moment the image of Tricana is revived by the folkloric groups of the region.
